He cut his first stone, nearly 30 years ago, out of Turquoise
from Cripple Creek, Colorado. In 1989, the American Society of
Gem Cutters recognized his fine skills and awarded him the "Supreme
Master Award" for gem sculpting and cabochon cutting. In
1994, he won the "Pinacle Award" for creative cutting
from the American Gem Trade Association. For the past 5 years
he was employed by a European Royal as "work master"
overseeing the manufacture of large gem and gold objects of virtue.
He has just recently returned to this own work of carving fancy
gems and cutting cabochons.
